Ok, I know the title is like kinda out of date, so just ignore it.

This blog's kinda dead, and people[especially the 2nd generation martians] are complaining. =D

Anyway, been trying to bake stuff lately, with a teeny weeny bit of success.

Baked a cake the day before, with the help of my mum, but the cake turned out FLAT.

It didn't rise at all. =.=

Kinda heavy though, although it was flat.

Then yesterday baked cookies myself. The batter smelled great, but the cookies turned out weird.

The outside was crunchy, but the inside was VERY cheesy. Eww.

Their still in a container on the dining table. I don't dare touch the cookies. =.=

And today was one hell of a day.

Woke at 8 in the morning, went to NTUC to get some stuff for baking. Then walked around, trying to find boxes to hold cakes.

In the end, thanks to si en's sms reply and shi jie's phone call, managed to find this bakery supply shop in AMK that sells the box.

So decided to go home first.

First thing immediately, was to bake the bottom layer of the cake.

This time it turned out nicer, and looked nicer too. But there were like brown spots on the top? And it didn't rise much, although it did a little.

Let it cool, then placed it in the fridge to cool for frosting later.

Then went out again, this time to the bakery shop to get MORE supplies for baking.

Managed to find a sieve and NEW baking powder. Apparently the cause of the cake not rising was partially due to the almost-near-expiry-date baking powder I used.

Also bought the box to hold the cake, and some decoration stuff.

Went home again. Btw, the shop was near Deyi Sec, so I walked there from my house, and walked back home with the heavy bag of baking stuff.

My arm was like hurting all the way, like wtf.

Reach home, was dead tired. Still, no choice, had to bake the top layer.

Luckily this time got actual sieve, so no need use a small drainer for like 10 mins to sieve 1 cup of flour.

Managed to chiong the batter in around an hour, but it was kinda flour-ry. Used another spoon instead of wooden spoon to mix, and the flour-ry thingy managed to seperate, but there were still some left.

Too bad, had not much time left, so just threw it in the oven and cook for 30 mins.

Then left to cool, on the table, and went out for dinner to celebrate my cousin and brother's birthday, on the 22nd and the 23rd respectively. Both families were only free today, so decided to celebrate early instead.

The F-ing dinner, with so little dishes, was F-ing expensive. $106 for 2 plated of crabs, with each plate holding about 2 large crabs. 1 Curry, 1 fried-something, I'm not sure.

The other dishes were only abalone+vegetable, fried fish and prawn soup.

Guess the total bill? $260+++. Like what a rip off.

Went home, and faster chiong do frosting, coz no time left.

Found out that I don't have eggs, so couldn't make the frosting. Substituted with Whipped Cream instead, and it was damn messy.

The whipped cream melted at room temperature, so it became milk instead. Like =.=

The middle frosting between the two layers was OK, but the top was like shit at first.

So tikam-tikam do, then added strawberries, blueberries, chocolate sprinkle and some sticks of chocolate, and a 'Happy Birthday' plastic thingy on the cake. Ta-Da, the cake was done.


The Hollow Book you see behind is from me, and it has a velcro strap too.
The thumbdrive with a staple box holder is from shi jie. Nobody will be able to tell it's a thumbdrive. =D

Then from there, all sweaty, went to sembawang to find him. Went to the nearby 'garden' to celebrate.

The place was littered with ants, literally. Look closely, and you can see like more than 20 of them.


3 huge ants. disgusting.

The cake turned out to be very, very heavy. Shi jie and Darren shared 1 cake, and they couldn't finish it. Think I did someting wrong, need to alter the recipe.

In the end, had to take back the rest of the cake. Wasted. =.=

Nvm, next time I shall bake a better one. Mum's Bday coming up, so maybe I'll bake again for her birthday. Only thing now is to figure out how to do frosting...

Reached home, really really tired, at around 11.15.

Chatted with both of them just now, nothing much.

Gotta complete some homework tomorrow, otherwise only december then will free.

Flying to THAILAND on 1st! YAY!

I want go baibai SiMianFuo.

Then I want go to the floating market and buy the coconut lamp.

Gotta buy souveniurs too.

I think I need to get a part time job. Short on cash lately.

The baking stuff alone costed me 80? Although 50 is from mum.

And my dad's gonna reduce my pocket money from next week, by I don't know how much. He got a pay cut. :(

At the very least, it's better than losing his job. But the pay cut quite alot leh. Dunno how he's gonna calculate the stuff tomorrow.

Funny thing is that the utilities bill always come around to about 300+++ a month. Other family only 150+, ours is like double.

Must go calculate water and electricity usage cost one day.

And I think I'm going to skip lunch from now on. Maybe? I dunno.

Either that, or I'm gonna only eat in kopitiams and coffee shops. $2.50 a plate kind of stuff.

Thinking of making hollow books to sell on Ebay, but still considering. Wanted to go to Singpost to take brochure today, but too busy. Maybe tomorrow?

The hollow books can help contribute a little bit of money to my savings.

I still want my new laptop next year end and my teeth when I'm 18. All cost $, especially the teeth. 5k for both, or was it one. Dunno where I'm going to get the money. =.=

Currently in dire need of CASH.

Ok, gtg. Tomorrow do homework, and try to find job by calling and emailing. BTW, willing to take up any job, as long as the $ is there for me to earn. Although some jobs like warehousing not suitable for me, coz I'm not strong and stuff. Telemarketing also abit weird weird one, no idea why.
